Corporate Christmas Party Gift Exchanges

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe snow has begun to fall, neighbourhoods are decked with strings of lights and the time for corporate Christmas parties is here. Some companies choose to include gift exchanges as part of the festivities. Setting a spending budget for presents, drawing names and having colleagues purchase and exchange their gifts can be fun. However, if you have been doing this for a while and would like to try something a little bit different this year or if you are considering holding a gift exchange for the very first time, you might want to think about adding a charitable donation component to it. This can be approached in a number of ways and I have listed a few possibilities below:

1) You and your colleagues could donate the money that you would have normally spent on presents directly to a charity of your choice.

2) Another option is to have employees purchase items (such as toys, food, etc.), bring them to the Christmas party and then have them delivered to an applicable charity after your event.

3) Finally, perhaps you would like to do a gift exchange and that is ok too! If this is the case you can still make a difference to those less fortunate by donating left-over food from your holiday party to a shelter.

There are numerous great causes that you can support if you would like to add a charitable component to your corporate Christmas party. I hope you enjoy your company party and have a Merry Christmas!

Sincerely,

Heather
